Threads of this valve lift the gate which is exposed to the fluid being controlled by the valve.
When the handle is rotated as far as possible to the left, it is fully opened and it is fully closed when the handle is rotated as far as possible to the right.
In both situations, the handle is flushed with the help of a pipe. It is simply because the clockwork that is found within the pipe opens and closes the value without lifting up the stem.
The offered array of non-rising stem Valves takes up less space, ideal for gate valves with limited space as compared to the rising stem valves. One of the other advantages of this valve is that it is easier to padlock.
But in the rising stem gate valve, two different sizes of padlocks could be needed to lock the valve while open and closed in position. With the non-rising gate valve, one padlock is enough.
A non-rising Stem Valve is also known as the rotary stem gate valve or blind stem wedge gate valve. The stem of this valve will be swiveled around to open and shut the gate, but the stem is never moved up or down as it swiveles around. As the stem turns it jerks in or out of the valve and vice versa this does the same to the gate in closing or opening the valve respectively.
